For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.” (Roms.14:17 KJV)

In 1999, while preaching to a group of budding Christian lawyers, I said to them, among other things, that I will make my first million before age 30 and that I was going to own a Grand Cherokee [It was one of the posh sports utility vehicles (SUV)then] sooner than later.

Did I make my first million before 30? The answer is in the affirmative. Did I own a Grand Cherokee? I got a better and more prestigious SUV.

Without prejudice to the heart and mouth connections to prosperity, I had a very jaundiced perspective of prosperity then. It was all about self without knowing. It wasn’t about the kingdom, though God honored my words.  I got even much more than I declared, but I limited God from doing what He could have done through me.

Most times, we limit God from prospering us the way He would love to. This is largely due to our laser focus on self. We saw a classical example in Luke 12 of the rich fool that accumulated riches solely for financial security to the point of destiny annihilation. Ditto for the young rich fellow in Mark 10 that left Jesus feeling sad and was grieved because his possessions had him. Thereby teaching us that a man’s life doesn’t consist in the abundance of what he has but what he gives.

Kingdom minded prosperity is more durable, lives-impacting, society building and God glorifying; as opposed to self enriching prosperity that vanishes like vapor, with its attendant mirage of security and self indulgences.

Therefore, kingdom prosperity is not for self indulgences. Rather it empowers you to be an extension of God’s benevolent hand in your sphere of influence. It promotes all that make for righteousness, peace and joy as empowered by the Holy Spirit of God.

God blessed our covenant fathers with stupendous wealth and as children of the covenant, it’s the Father’s good pleasure to give us the kingdom. The truth is that the kingdom is right within every believer in Christ. What we need to do is to respond to the eternal laws of the kingdom for the full manifestation of our financial dominion.

Here are 11 keys that will unlock kingdom prosperity for you.
