“And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” (1 Cor.13:13 NKJV)
I’ve come to the awesome personal revelation that God is no respecter of persons. Howbeit, He respects His Covenant with His Son of which every believer in Christ is a beneficiary as an offspring. And the terms of this Covenant are embodied in His Word. Therefore, as many believers that agree with the revelations of His Word get His attention, respect and honor.
Relatively, the power of God works in and through us according to the level of revelation of His power and the right application of it. Paul captured this most appropriately in his epistle to the Ephesians. He said, “Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.” (Eph.3:20)
It becomes very clear that you and I determine the height, breadth, length and depth of the workings of God’s power in our lives. It’s not enough to know that God is All Powerful but how and what degree of His power that’s at work in you.
Hear this: Power remains unenforced until pressure is placed on the levers. The only way to capitalize on your powerful position is by leveraging it. In finance, leverage is used as an investment strategy to specifically increase the potential return of an investment.
Science taught us that a lever is a rigid bar that pivots about one point and is used to move an object at a second point by a force applied at a third. So, there are three types of lever, all working together to achieve a purpose.
In the same vein, the Scripture teaches us three ways to leverage on the power of God for maximum performance and delivery. Paul writing to the Thessalonians amplified the activities of the Triune Forces – Faith, hope and love. “Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father.” (1 Thess.1:3)
Therefore, drawing from that Scripture, the three levers of power are as follows:
1. The Work of Faith.
Faith remains the most potent force on the earth. It turns impossibilities to possibilities. It brings heaven down to earth. Howbeit, faith remains impotent until put to work by our beliefs, behaviors and conversations.
2. The Labor of Love.
Faith works by love. Without love, faith cannot be impactful. Of a truth, faith is worth nothing without love. When we labor in the love of God, we walk in the exact knowledge of God, filled with all the fullness of God and in turn empowered to do the powerful works of faith.
3. The Patience of Hope.
Faith gives materiality to hope. Without hope, faith has nothing to fertilize. Hope remains the anchor of the soul. And our hope is empowered by our patience knowing fully well that God’s Word can never fail, and the saints can never be ashamed. So, patience is the staying power of expectant hope of the saints.
I, under God, encourage you to engage these Triune Forces of Faith, Love and Hope. They abide forever, and their impact is everlasting.
Howbeit, it’s the Spirit of God living in those that are born again that enables us to leverage on His workings. Without Him we can do nothing! Open your heart to Him today.
To your Holy Spirit leverage,
